Tree Planting at Atarau Sanctuary

Tree Planting at Atarau Sanctuary
There’s something truly rewarding about getting your hands dirty for a good cause—and some of our team had the privilege of doing just that by planting trees at Atarau Sanctuary, with the help of Trees That Count!
One of our environmental projects includes planting trees; partnering with Trees That Count and local organisation Atarau Sanctuary to mitigate (parts of) our carbon footprint over the next 50 years and help protect New Zealand’s threatened biodiversity. That’s good for our carbon footprint, and good for Aotearoa.
We had an awesome afternoon with Ray from the sanctuary and planted 150 tree native trees. The trees planted not only help offset carbon emissions but help protect the endangered Great Spotted Kiwi. There are currently five kiwis within this sanctuary that will be released back into the wild once strong enough to defend for themselves.
Westpeak's goal was to plant a minimum of 500 trees per year in New Zealand and we have well and truly achieved this goal. As of March 2025, we have funded the planting of 2,705 native trees for this amazing organisation.
We can't wait to continue to support them with many more trees in the near future!
By purchasing Westpeak products you too can help fund native trees to be planted in New Zealand.
